Also known as physical therapy, physiotherapy is specialized field in healthcare that aims to help individuals with limitations in functional mobility, usually brought about by musculoskeletal issues. It involves the identification, evaluation, and assessment of the medical condition of the patient in order to come up with a program designed to treat the specific disorder experienced by the patient and to prevent its occurrence in the future.

In general, the objectives of physiotherapy are to reduce pain and discomfort, improve mobility or range of motion, regain muscular strength, and improve functional ability. This is achieved through the use of appropriate exercises and different modalities or tools available in this medical filed.

These exercises have been shown to be effective and safe in addressing these specific conditions and may consist of flexibility, strengthening, and endurance routines. Among the modalities a physical therapist may use for the therapy of the patient are massage therapy, hot and cold application, electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, laser therapy, and assistive devices.
