The simple answer to this questions is no. Being treated by a chiropractor using manipulative therapy (adjustments) will not lead to the necessity to continue with ongoing treatment. However some individuals choose to see a Chiropractor for treatment in a proactive manner, to keep their bodies feeling, moving and functioning better and healthier. This would be considered a Wellness approach to health, that is, instead of treating the body once it is injured, treating it so that it does not become injured, or to prevent future ailments. It can be compared to changing the oil in a vehicle on a regular schedule to maintain engine life. The difference is that we know through simple scientific methodologies/studies that not changing the oil in your vehicle can reduce engine life, meanwhile measuring the effect of a chiropractic treatment, some nutritional supplements, massage therapy, and other interventions when used for wellness, is much more difficult due to the complexity and variation in our bodies. Subsequently, it is a matter of personal choice and belief whether or not such an approach (Wellness approach) is right for you.
At PARC of Ontario, our focus is on healing you both quickly and completely. To achieve this we accurately identify the cause of your condition, and direct treatment at eliminating the cause of your condition.
