Chiropractic has been considered a medical system that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system, particularly those affecting the spine as it relates to the nervous system. This is based only the principle that any dysfunctions affecting the spine may have huge implications on the person’s specific disorder or to the general health. Therapy using the chiropractic system involves a process in which a patient is examined to come up with a diagnosis before applying any treatment programs. Chiropractors have been trained in the different approaches to the treatment of a patient. The primary objective is to address the immediate concerns of the patient through a technique that involves making adjustments or manipulations of the spine and other parts of the body, which may result to relieving the pain, correcting alignment problems, and stimulating recovery through the body’s natural healing ability. This chiropractic therapy may also include therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, behavioral and lifestyle modifications, and other modalities similar to those used in physiotherapy.
