Advanced Sports Therapy

Sports-Physiotherapy-for-Performance

Sports therapy is in the field of physiotherapy, or physical therapy, to help individuals recover from (or prevent) injury while playing sports or simply living life. A physiotherapist (physical therapist) will help clients of all ages increase mobility, regain strength, and address musculoskeletal issues. The work you do with a therapist will also help you breathe easier, have less pain, and become stronger overall.

Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centres (PARC) of Ontario specializes in individuals who are prone to injuries from actively participating in sports.

Physical Therapy and Education

Trained, expert therapists offer fitness programs to help clients improve endurance by building strength and maintaining a strong, healthy heart. In addition, our trained, expert physiotherapists focus on each individual’s neuromuscular function. This enhances performance when running and walking, playing football, basketball, hockey, and soccer (among other sports).

By educating clients on how to prevent injury, a therapist uses different modalities. They often address general wellness, too, because they care about a client’s overall well-being and quality of life.

Exercise and Other Applications

Sports Therapy In Whitby And Its Benefit To Health

Using therapeutic exercises (e.g. stretching, building muscle strength, improving balance and range of motion), along with electrical stimulation, therapeutic massages, and laser or ultrasound therapies, clients receive pain relief. Hot and cold applications are long-tested therapies that stimulate the healing process, and increase overall health and well-being.

A good therapist will help provide (and teach clients to use) assistive devices or mobility aids for balance and stability, including knee braces and orthotics. They also address lifestyle choices that could be adding to pain or increasing risk of injury, by creating a progressive goal attainment program (PGAP), and talking about nutrition.
